$2000 loan/Bad credit??

My little brother is a hard working kid (not a kid...he's 30) and has been at his job for six years. He and his fiance are in trouble with their home because of her loss of income due to an accident. She has yet to be reimbursed for the medical expenses and I believe she's looking at another year or so. Well, their mortgage company is not willing to wait that long, and if I had the money, I'd help in a heartbeat, but I just don't have it. I couldn't co-sign for him because I dont bring in a paycheck. There is no other family able (or willing) to help. They have a baby and he's a responsible father, but her accident has caused several hits on his credit. Enough to cause financial institutions to consider him ';undesirable'; and ';high-risk';. He's about to lose his home over $2000, and I just don't know what to suggest. Any ideas??
