A dear friend is on the verge of bankruptcy, am trying to help her - her debt is due to a medical condition.?

I am concerned about her getting credit afterwards. Am also wondering if or how much I should help financially to try to bail her out? Do creditors care if bankrupcty was due to medical concerns? Does it matter to the court? If she does this, I could help her after....or is it best to help her before? I can't do both.
